Hello, I am Gülcan BABAYİĞİT, I am a mother of 4 children, I am 43 years old, I have been a Christian for 8 years.
I was born into a religious and Islamic family and I was raised that way. I was 21 years old. My husband Bülent and I got married through an arranged marriage. I started to experience violence from the first years.
There was always oppression and physical violence, drugs and alcohol entered his life. After I started this started to get worse, almost every day physically and I was being exposed to psychological pressure, there wasn't much my family could do about it. There was no way, due to both our belief and culture, as a woman, I should not submit. It was necessary.
I was holding on to my faith and praying more so that he could change, and I was getting help from the teachers. I was requesting and having amulets made, but neither did that change nor did anything change in my life.
Nothing good happened at all, then I started to notice that my partner had changed, he was losing alcohol from his life. The drugs were out and he was no longer violent towards us, because he was a Christian I was afraid because it was my belief that we would continue to live together. It was an impossible situation and one day he sat down and told me that he was a Christian. He had changed, he was a good person now, but because he changed his beliefs, they were now together.
I said we couldn't live together and gave him a choice: either me and your children or JESUS. When he chose JESUS, I asked him to leave the house, and he hurried to get a divorce. I should pray and draw near to God to hear God's voice. He said it was necessary, this seemed very meaningless to me, I thought he was crazy, 4 months my husband stayed away for 4 months and I prayed for 4 months, I always said this, God are you really the one who changed it? and reveal the truth to me.

I couldn't speak, then I explained the situation to my husband and that morning it was as if she had just been born. I felt like a meaningful love had entered me and my life was changing in a more positive direction.
I started to change, I was baptised in early 2018. My husband and I have been involved in the church ever since. We serve, the vision I personally carry in my heart is the suffering and oppressed reaching out to women, seeing Christ working miraculously in their lives, God has done great miracles in my life, even though I could not read or write, the Lord He raised me and developed me, now he provides many services within the church, including the preaching service.
